The reality is every project we do and everyone we work with is our portfolio. For over 10 years we have not advertised once, well, maybe a business card here and there. Oh yeah, and this website.

The few projects focused below are not chosen for their "look", or even to wow you with all the amazing things we have done. Instead we want to give a better idea of what we actually do to exceed our clients needs and how we build real world relationships.

Below are just three examples of companies we have ongoing relationships with. For more portfolio material please visit our individual service sections.

Gallery33 came to us by way of one of our graphic designers who was showing his fine art at their gallery. They were looking for a company that could deliver a site that captured the essence of their facility, looked artful, but not flashy, and most importantly that they could edit themselves without learning html or calling someone every week to update their old flash design.

One of the ways we accomplished this on gallery33east.com was by customizing the Promarkit Image Gallery to look and function like a directory of artists, replete with artists' statements and individual artists viewing galleries.

  • Custom site design for art gallery
    • Design based on previous postcard marketing campaigns
    • Alludes to the feel of walking by the gallery at night
  • Promarkit system
    • Image Gallery
    • Calendar
    • News
    • Basic CMS

They are a relatively new client and we are working on more projects that we will be excited to share in the near future.

Our business is built around word of mouth referrals and long term relationships. One day our herpetological friends over at lllreptile.com referred the entire animal kingdom over for a website. And The Wildlife Company delivers a truly wild experience when they show up with their small zoo for an animal presentation (including the owner!).

The first project was to get them a useful online presence at wildlifecompany.com. This Promarkit powered design allows the owners and employees of The Wildlife Company to edit the content of the site and focused on the most important aspects of their business: what they do and how to contact them. Their unique service was easily defined and the animal pages aren't just fun for kids, they are good for search engines too (bet you thought we were going to say--for adults too!).

Since then we have done various traditional graphic design projects for them including business cards and yearly ad designs for the one industry journal they advertise in.

  • Fully custom web design
    • Professional and easy to read, navigate
    • Big easy to understand navigation, limited to the most important aspects of the business
    • Recreated logo idea for high resolution use in other marketing materials
  • Promarkit system
    • Library
    • Basic CMS
  • High resolution logo creation
  • Business card design
  • Handle all printing for them
  • Yearly advertisement design for industry publication

There is a lot of history here. We can remember meeting them back when we had our offices in Encinitas, Tom and Lisa sitting there around a tiny table still able to smell the fresh paint.

Like many of our clients they show up wanting a website. Everybody wants a website. But we got talking, and it turned out they were looking for a whole lot more than a website. They were gearing up to take their small educational consulting firm and turn into a revolution of modern education in the U.S.. Their old website reflected none of the earnest passion and high minded dreams they were striving for. In the process of building them a website we were creating a whole new professional image that would be friendly enough for the educators they worked with and serious enough to meet the demands of corporate business dealings and investors. We created an original logo and developed a whole new online presence.

ooeygooey.com was a ground-up solution written with Cold Fusion. Their site in fact was part of the inspiration for the first version of Promarkit that we first developed for Cold Fusion, and then later abandoned for the raw open source power of PHP and MySQL. This ground-up solution has been serving them for over 5 years and has expanded from a shopping system to include a calendar, basic CMS style what's new, online event registration, custom forum, and member system including online payment/renewal and immediate discounts in their store. While we are less fond of Cold Fusion than we were years ago, the system has served them well, and only in the past few months have we looked at reasons to be move them to the new Promarkit.

Apart from creating their logo and basic branding for business cards and stationary, we have created various ads, taken an immense amount of photographs, and even designed and laid out an entire book for them.

We are currently creating a new site and logo for their latest venture, Ooey Gooey Playschools, a hands on learning through play facility for children. This has been a dream of theirs for many years, to take the philosophies they have been sharing for so long, and turn it into something for the families. Way to go!

We are proud to work with Ooey Gooey. For a brief period zoe even helped give Fizzle Bubble workshops (how teachers can make science fun for young children) for them.

We first met Assorted Paper and Packaging many many years ago. We developed a ground-up system for them including: graphic design, powerful online catalog catering to the unique needs of the packaging industry, and a custom import system to keep everything synced up with their legacy unix system. When we started they didn't have any concept of branding beyond "navy blue" and their company name typed in "arial". When we were done they were selling and listing literally thousands of line items online.

Since then they have merged with Ernest Paper Products, Inc and are taking their online presence in a new direction. The old site proved to attract orders from smaller consumer clients and was doing little for their larger corporate interests. We migrated the old Cold Fusion/MS SQLServer data over to the new Promarkit(PHP)/MySQL system and created a whole new look to match the new company branding.

  • Fully custom design
    • Whole new look inspired by older Ernest Paper promotional materials
    • Incorporated the main company logo into each branch site design
    • Recreated logo idea for high resolution use in other marketing materials
    • Implemented color coded design by branch to enable reusing the overall design for each branch
  • Promarkit system
    • Store
    • Library
    • Advanced CMS
