The dance studio

The situation

You operate a dance studio. You have the big annual recital coming up and you want it to look and sound like a professional show. Music needs mixed and mastered. The lighting should be artistic. You are tired of the chaotic backstage nightmare of coordinating all those kids and the flow of the show.

On top of everything else, your studio is growing, your business computers are running slow and it is getting harder and harder to keep track of all the student and business information. You are thinking about an online calendar for class schedules and how nice it would be if students could sign up on the website.

Then we work with you to decide what of this you can handle yourself and what you need help with. Maybe you have someone with some theater experience who can stage manage the show but needs some help. So we give them some tips and provide document templates that can be used to organize, schedule, and design the show flow.

You have rough cuts of the music you need for each number, but some of it is on tape, some of it is spliced together with pops and noise, one piece needs the pitch shifted halfway through, and none of the volume levels are the same. Supply the sources, let us know what you need done, and we give you back a CD for each act of each show, in show order, including walk-in music and background music during the awards portion of the show.

For most of the show you need simply lighting that mainly let's the parents see the kids, but you have a few pieces that need to look better than Alvin Ailey. We refer you to a professional lighting designer who designs the look and gives you a plot to make it happen. When we refer you to someone, we also handle the preliminary contact expressing your needs to help keep costs down and make sure you get what you want.

The postcards are designed by [ i ] motion in house by the same people who are working on your website ensuring the same quality and style.

We install Promarkit on your website, and setup the online calendar. We add a custom module for taking class signups online. From an administrative interface (intranet) that only you have access to, you can manually add new students to classes, track class size, process payments, and instantly email everyone in any class or all classes. When returning students are signing up for future classes they merely need to login, select the class, and pay. Done.

From the Promarkit administrative interface you can also edit the page contents, add photos to your photo gallery, and start an online store.
